The FIA World Rallycross Championship top three at the end of the 2019 season – Timmy Hansen, Andreas Bakkerud and Kevin Hansen – were honoured at the annual FIA Prize Giving Ceremony last night.

The event, a highlight of the world motor sport calendar, brought together the Federation's championship-winning drivers and teams to celebrate their successful seasons. This year's event was held at the Louvre in Paris.

As they made their way past the iconic glass pyramid that marks the museum’s entrance, guests caught sight of the championship-winning FIA Formula One, World Endurance, World Rallycross, Karting and World Rally Championship cars on the red carpet.

Paul Bellamy, Senior Vice President of Motorsports at IMG, the promoter of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, was also in attendance in an event hosted by Jean Todt, the FIA President.

Sweden's Timmy Hansen emerged as the 2019 champion after an epic, season-long battle with Norway's Andreas Bakkerud. In fact, the duo were tied on 211 points after the 196th and final race at the 2019 finale in Cape Town. Timmy was awarded the title on countback - four wins to Bakkerud's one.

Timmy's younger brother Kevin finished third overall while Team Hansen MJP took the teams' title - which was received by Kenneth Hansen who was accompanied by wife Susann.
