Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud is working hard to be on the FIA World Rallycross Championship grid this season and is assessing all options available to him.

Speaking as part of his popular #BakkerudLife YouTube series, the six-time World RX race winner says he has spoken to a number of existing World RX teams and is also looking into the option of setting up his own team to compete in World RX. Bakkerud has driven for Olsbergs MSE, Hoonigan Racing Division and EKS in his five years in World RX. “I don’t have all the answers in the book yet, but I have a couple of opportunities. I love rallycross, I would love to stay. I really feel like I need to grab that title. That’s my goal,” he said. “There is not very many teams, but I’m in contact with a few of them. Nothing is clear what will happen, for next year it’s very open.”

Bakkerud has finished on the podium 24 times in World RX history, and has been third in the Drivers’ Championship points twice, but is continuing to target the very top step. “Motorsport is not easy. I’m trying my hardest and I’m going to push my hardest,” he said. “I want to fight back and win some titles, especially the FIA World Rallycross Championship title.”
